Cavan County Schools Swimming Gala
Pupils from St Felim's N.S. took part in the Cavan Schools Swimming Gala on Wednesday, 6 December 2023 in Cavan Swimming & Leisure Centre. Thirteen pupils took part in the competition. Children participated in Backstroke, Front Crawl, Breaststroke and Relay events. It was a very successful and enjoyable day for pupils. Congratulations to all those who took part.
Community Games
Best wishes to these four ladies and their teammates who are representing Killann in the All Ireland U12 GAA Community Games this weekend in Limerick. The Killann team are already champions, having won Cavan and Ulster in this competition. We hope you have a wonderful weekend in Limerick.
Basketball Stand
The Board of Management, Staff and Pupils of St Felim's National School would like to acknowledge and thank Adrian and Mary Lambe for the new basketball stand in our play area. Adrian hand-made the basketball stand from stainless steel and very kindly donated it to our school community. We are very grateful for his talent and generosity. The children are already having great fun playing basketball at breaktimes.

Design a Jersey Competition
Sponsored by St. Felim's National School Parent's Association
On Thursday 26th May, the winners of the 'Design a Jersey' which was led by our Parents Association were announced in school. This was a project that began a few months ago when children in all classes were invited to design a new school jersey. The Parents Association received entries from the children throughout the school and had the tough task to decide a winner. Special prizes were awarded to Cillian Clarke, Isla Gormley, Nathan Cundelan and Asha Connolly. These children all received a voucher for Bailie Stores. Eva Pilipaviciute was the overall competition winner and she was presented with a jersey showcasing her winning design.
Well done to Eva, Cillian, Isla, Nathan and Asha!

Goalposts
A big thank you to Donal & Jennifer Clarke ( Donal Clarke Electrical Engineering) for sponsoring a new set of GAA goalposts for our school.
The children are absolutely thrilled with this new addition to the playground.

Rugby Success!
Philip and John Lynch and Jack Ward were part of the Virginia Rugby team that competed against teams from all across Ulster in Armagh recently.
Their team were the overall winners of the P3/U 7's age group in the Armagh Mini Rugby Festival!
They also got their photo taken with Rory Best! It was a great day for them.
Cumann na mBunscoil
Well done to our 5th and 6th class boys who participated in a Gaelic Football blitz in Killinkere recently.
Despite the bad weather on the day, the boys played exceptionally well and tried their very best.
A big thank you to the parents who helped out at the event.
Well done to all the ‘Active Slogan’ winners in 3rd-6th class!
WHAT CLUB ARE YOU IN?
3rd class carried out a survey about popular clubs in our locality. The evidence shows that there are lots of active clubs in Bailieborough to join. 3rd class created a wonderful display of the findings that can be found beside the ramp.
